PULSE summer school 2021 is organized by the French national research network (GDR) on the epitaxy of semiconductors.

It will be held on the French Rivera, from July 2nd to 8th 2021 on the island of Porquerolles.

It will take place in a hybrid way, with both live (on-site) and virtual (on-line) participation thanks to a zoom link. In addition, lectures will be recorded and videos will be published afterwards.

This summer school is dedicated to PhD students, young but also senior scientists. It will provide both a reminder of the basic understanding of epitaxy together with a description of its modern applications. It will describe both the basics and latest developments of the crystal growth at its finest levels, its potential together with its challenges. The opto-electronic and optical properties of nanostructures grown by epitaxy will be described together with their caracterization. Finally, the use of epitaxy both in new fundamental objects and in industrial applications will be explored.
